Bienvenidos Padres y Guardianes

Welcome Parents and Guardians
Early literacy begins at home, and practice is easier than you think. When early literacy is experienced at home, you are helping your daughter / son prepare for a new stage in kindergarten or elementary school. Several partners of Alverno College have worked together to develop new items for family fun play dates. In addition, this website has activities extending practiced topics at the Milwaukee Public Library. The website contains a special page where there are supplementary activities practiced in the library that you can utilize and practice at home. We have tried to include social studies material in the activities and readings. Included below are the Common Core State Standards which correspond to
the plans we have created. The Common Core State Standards are used in all of your children’s classrooms daily. It is a resource to use with your children to know what they will be encountering in school during literacy.
The following link will take you to a page dedicated to the family library. Here you will
find information about the programs offered to help children appreciate
reading. The second link will take you to calendar of summer events, where you
will find the dates of upcoming programs "Play and Learn Bilingual."
